Russian police identify airport bomber

The man who detonated a bomb in Domodedovo airport in Moscow on Monday, killing 35 people, was 20 years old from the northern Caucasus said Russian investigative committee Saturday.

The Agency did not identify the man and no more details about the investigation was not immediately available.

Although there has been no claim of responsibility for the bombing, suspicion has focused on the North Caucasus, where the jihadist insurgency is fighting to establish an Islamic emirate.

The bomb exploded in a crowded field of international arrivals section, killing 35 people and wounding dozens.

Russian President Dmitry Medvedev has dismissed the authorities' plan of airport security in the wake of the explosion, saying he had enouigh to prevent such accidents.

Bombing was less than a year after suicide bombers attacked the London Underground station in central Moscow during rush hour, killing about 38 people.
