QUENTIN Tarantino admits he’s “embarrassed” he didn’t include his ex-girlfriend’s film in his 20 best films of 2010.
The director — who revealed Toy Story 3 was his favorite film of last year — neglected to mention Sofia Coppola’s Somewhere — despite giving it an award at the Venice Film Festival.
“I’m a little embarrassed by it, actually,” Quentin said.
“Because it was never meant to be a dig against Somewhere, or Sofia. I simply didn’t consider any of the films I’d seen in Venice for the list.”
Tarantino was the Venice Film Festival jury president when he awarded Sophia’s Somewhere the Golden Lion award.
“Being her friend didn’t affect me or make me sway the jury in any way,” Tarantino told the press just award the award announcement.
“The other members of the jury don’t know her at all. They just loved the film.”
Quentin recently revealed he’s keen to make a movie that tells a love story.
“I’d love to make a romantic comedy and take it out of the ghetto it’s been exiled to,” said the movie-maker. “I have done love stories; they’ve just been in my other movies,

“True Romance’s title was not ironic. Sure, James Gandolfini almost beats Patricia Arquette to death and she has to blow him away with a shotgun, but that doesn’t mean it’s not romantic. It just has to be done my way, and I think people want me to do it my way.”
