Islamabad, Pakistan
The militants in northwestern Pakistan, killing four men are accused of spying for the U.S. police told CNN.
The bullet-riddled bodies were found dumped on a road Saturday in North Waziristan, a district in Pakistan's tribal region along the Afghan border, police officer said Sajid Mohmand.
A note attached to one of the bodies read: "This is the destination for those who work for the United States," said Mohmand.
North Waziristan is widely believed to be safe in Pakistan, the Taliban and al-Qaida militants fueling insurgency in Afghanistan.
The district has experienced a surge of air strikes by unmanned drones in the United States.
Analysts say that the targets are often chosen based on information gathered from local residents.
Over the past two years, the Pakistani Taliban have killed dozens of men in the tribal area after accusing them of providing information to Pakistani security forces and U.S. troops operating across the border in Afghanistan.
